Recent Projects : :

Closer: Wearables for a Distant Society :: The Closer project, my Masters Thesis, are two

technologically interfaced garments which respond to touch with sound and light. In general technologies are designed for people who are distant, these combat that idea by creating communication technology which requires close proximity.

Think of Me Rings :: The T.O.M. rings are in the works for future development. The concept is to connect intimately and instantly with loved ones from faraway. The rings respond to touch and transmit heat and light wirelessly to the other party when activated. They have been showcased on Arte' TV in Germany and France along with numerous spots on technological blogs such as Mikes List and Smartmobs. (http://www.alisonlewis.com/projects/rings.html)

Magic Bike :: I assisted Yury Gitman, wireless artist with research of power and battery devices for mobile computing for his magic bike project. Collaborated closely with fellow classmates in the design and implementation of OpenParks.net and magicbike.net.

Fashion Technology Snowboarding Jacket :: Class project with research and development for an interactive snowboarding jacket for communication and emergency on the slopes. Assisted in textile research, wearable design, and prototyping. Developed a prototype jacket with integrated technologies that allow snowboarders to communicate wirelessly with the mountain and each other through Wifi technology.
